REASONABLE PRICED FUEL FOR THE CEMENT INDUSTRY

LEP Lignite Energy Pulverized by Rheinbraun Brennstoff (RBB) is a reasonable priced source of energy for the cement industry. It is obtained by refining Rhenish lignite. We can provide a highly secure supply as we mine and produce the product ourselves. Thanks to long-term supply agreements, Lignite Energy allows energy-intensive sectors to calculate their costs years in advance.

RBB has developed unique expertise in industrial processes specific to the cement sector over the course of decades of working together with the cement industry at a corporate and individual level. This expertise led us to create a high-quality, low-sulphur, low-ash fuel for the energy-intensive rotary kilns used in the cement industry during clinker production and to dry granulated slag.

NET CALORIFIC VALUE

RBB’s LEP contains a high proportion of volatile matter, as well as a consistent grain size and a consistently low water content. This ensures a near-constant net calorific value in rotary kilns, leading to optimum burning characteristics.

PROFITABILITY

In contrast to oil, gas and hard coal, LEP as an energy source available on our doorstep is a reasonable priced source of energy and, given the consistent decline in demand for primary energy, a sensible just-in-time alternative instead of grinding your own hard coal. Long-term supply agreements mean energy costs can be calculated reliably in advance, making plants more profitable.

SIMPLE AND SAFE TO USE

LEP is easy and safe to use in closed systems. In fact, it is just even simpler to use than hard coal. The LEP arrives by road in a silo, or by rail in a closed tank wagon.

WHY CONVERT?

Rotary kilns can be converted to run on LEP without the need for major expenditure, allowing you to benefit from low fuel prices while continuing to use your existing plant. The investment will pay for itself in a few short years. The limited space required and high control speed bring other operational benefits, too. You can rely on RBB’s expertise if you decide to convert. We will be at your side from planning right through to implementation.
